Multidisciplinary piece for the residency program for stage creation at the Sala Círculo de Benimaclet 2021.
On stage, exclusively Paula Elena, who has written this "path of cruelties that travels towards a strange breach of beauty, which leaves us with an ultimate end sprinkled with flowers, taking the body to the extreme of despair and all the formulas of the ruthless."
Floral symbolism transcends verbal or botanical codes. This is an exercise in courage, reflected in a text full of complexity and beauty. Elevating the inner, illuminated word, the florist articulates a polyphonic discourse with the soundscape and the bodily exploration of different forms of violence and an ultimate abyss.
Seeking to evoke the ineffable and bring the public closer to this experience, the proposal involves an immersion into different mystical traditions with allusions to some works, from The interior castle by Santa Teresa, to Arthur Rimbaud, Alejandra Pizarnik or Clara Janés.
The author and performer presents us with a journey, a quest, flowers as the unit of measurement for dawn, as the voice of liturgical chant. She confronts the phantoms of her own biographical lineage, in which a hidden unity lies beneath the surface. The numerous floral references address union with the other (be that other a lyrical self or an end of the world to be faced), marked by a warning of rain throughout this piece, which hints at the threshold between two realities (which, at the same time, form a single whole). The full meaning of the symbolism of water in this stage work is only revealed in relation to other symbols that constitute a genuine system.
